Yummy!!!

Uncle Kyle's ear tastes good!

Meeting Great-Great Uncle Sverre

Quin celebrated his first Thanksgiving this year. Michelle & I are very thankful for Quin. I'm also thankful that Quin got to meet his Great-Great Uncle Sverre on Thanksgiving. Sverre and my Grandpa Kaare were brothers, and when Grandpa Kaare passed away, Great-Uncle Sverre became my surrogate Grandpa. Quin got to hang out with his Great-Great Uncle, the 91 Year-old WWII Navy Vet, for a little bit; Quin really enjoyed Sverre's tie-clasp. Sverre is a 1st Generation, American-born Kvenild, Quin is a 4th Generation, American-born Kvenild; that made these post-worthy.

Older Chicks Dig Me!

Hey, Uncle Jason! Thanks for the cool shirt! It's funny because it's true.

The Purple People Eater!

Quin has thrush in his mouth. We used the meds that his doctor told us to use and they didn't help. So we went to the doc's next medication which required us to paint the inside of his mouth with this purple goop. It was pretty funny, especially the last picture where he was loving looking at his purple mouth in the mirror. It takes a day or two for the purple to fade, so he'll be like this for a while.

Mommy having fun with the Camera

Michelle & Quin were up somewhat early last Saturday, so they had some quality time together while I got some sleep. When Mommy & baby have time together, the camera comes out. Here's the highlights.

Compare & Contrast

Compare this picture to the one we posted back in September and see how Quin has adjusted to this swaddle blanket. He sleeps all night pretty much every night, with the exception of the last couple weeks since he's had a cold.

Dinner with the Larsen's

We got to have dinner with Kris, Andy & their brood. We had a lot of fun here's a couple pics Michelle took.
First, this one makes me laugh because it reminds me of a picture my Mom has of Kris & I. Very cute even though Quin looks like he was taken completely by surprise.
Isaak tried on Quin's frog hat that Grandma Kathy made. He kinda stretched it out a bit with his gigantic head (haha!); but how can you not love this picture?

A Tired Gentleman after a long day at day-care

Our little Quin is 4 months old now. He got shots last week that gave him a temp of 103 and making his parents a little (actually a lot) nervous. But he pulled through AOK. The below pic was taken when he got home the day of his high temp. Anyway, I neglected to post his 4 month stats when I posted this pic last week, so here we go!

Quintin Irving Kvenild @ 4 Months Old:
Weight: 11.4 lbs
Height: 2ft, 1in
Head Circumference: 16in
Quin is in the 50th Percentile for his height, but doesn't even chart for his weight and head circumference! He's a pip-squeak, but he's healthy and he's our pip-squeak.

Michelle's Bench

My lovely wife was very patient with me in getting this finished for her. I promised to make her this bench over the summer - but due to a baby being dropped on our doorstep it got delayed. Well, it was officially added to Michelle's bedroom set this past week. I'm taking orders if you pay for the materials - haha!

Grandma's Batboy

I had to put this up. My mom knows my love of Batman (she bought me my first Batman comics when I was 6!), and before he was born I joked a lot that we were going to name our son "Bruce Wayne" after the great superhero. So, it stuck until he was born and Quintin became his name. But the Batman references still abound, and for a shower gift my Mom gave Quin a hooded Batman-sweater that she knitted, complete with Bat-symbol on the chest and bat-cowl-ears on the hood. So, I had to post this pic of my Mom and her Grandbat. Thanks, Mom, it's awesome!!!

HALLOWEEN 2008

Quin's first Halloween was fun (for his Mom & I anyway!). He had no idea what was going on. It was still fun! Here's some shots!
Quin got bored sitting with Mom so he decided to be a vampire for Halloween. But his plan was foiled due to not having teeth.
I carved Quin's first pumpkin for him. Here's the process.
Step 1: Gut the pumpkin.
Step 2: Carve and try to pull out the pieces from the tiny pumpkin.
Step 3: Light the candle and set out the super-cool Star Wars Stormtrooper jack-o-lantern!
Michelle's pumpkin was very cool also (a trick-or-treating Monster). Mine is the creepy-grinning jack-o-lantern.
The fact that this shot turned out is a miracle because there was no light to see if everything was in frame. Thanks, Ellen!!! Great guess!!!
