Happy Birtday, Quin!

Yesterday our baby-boy was born. To hold him he felt so tiny and so fragile. What is he going to be like as he gets older?
Then we shake our heads out of the fog and realize that it wasn't yesterday, it was a year ago. If only time went slower.

Happy Birthday, Quin! We love you!

Quin's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Quin's 1st Birthday on Sunday (and a bit on Monday as well - which is his actual birthday). He had a Sesame Street Party and Michelle made this fantastic Cookie Monster cake with cookie cupcakes.
We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous day to have a party outside.
Lots of family & friends were there to help Quin celebrate.

Quin's first birthday gift of the day was a swimming pool from Aunt Kim, Uncle Tom & Kathryn. It was the hit of the day!

Now you can witness the progression of a 1-year-old eating cake & ice cream.

Happy Birthday, Tobias!

It was a weekend full of birthday. Saturday, Quin got invited to his pal Tobias' 1st birthday party. Quin and Tobias are separted in age by only 2 days, so they have a neat little bond even if they don't realize it yet.
Happy Birthday to the Birthday boy!

First Trip to Urgent Care

According to the doctor we saw in Urgent Care last night, our boy is amazing. Quin gave us a bit of a scare yesterday when his personality went in the opposite direction. Usually, he doesn't stop moving, never wants to sit still, always jabbering and smiling constantly. Well, yesterday afternoon he woke up from a nap and needed to be held, sobbing as if he was in pain and looking & acting like he was in a complete haze. After waiting for an hour in the Urgent Care waiting area we saw a doctor who pronounced that it's nothing serious but it's the "Viral Yuck" that's going around with kids his age. Doc said she has had kids come in with him symptoms and she's had kids come in with temps as high as 102; so Quin is OK. Michelle's mom said that he was acting like Michelle & her brother acted when they had ear infections. Quin does not have an ear infection, and that's why the doc said he's amazing. The fact that he has not had an ear infection at all considering the history of lots of ear infections in both his parents astounded her (both Michelle & I had several as kids). So, my son is officially amazing (I already knew that, but a doctor said so which just proves it more). He was back to his old self soon after as he was stuffing his face with McDonald French Fries.

More Como Pics

Thanks for the pics, Sara!
The next one requires an explanation. Yes, I know Quin is blurry in the picture; it's because he really didn't care to meet Sparky the Seal that face-to-face. As soon as Sparky put his face up to the glass, Quin bolted into Michelle's arms. Very funny!
The first Icee - mmmmmm, cherry. Thanks for the taste, Amy!

old pic

I just found this old picture on the memory card and had to put it on. Funny!

1st Trip to Como Zoo

Last Saturday we met Hosch #'s 3 (Ben), 5 (Amy) and 6 (Sara) to hang out with them and bring Quin to Como Zoo for the first time. Needless to say he loved it. From his first observation of an orangutan to a face-to-face meeting with Sparky the Seal (still waiting for good pics from Sara!), Quin had a blast (and he slept really good that night too!). Here's the highlights.
This is literally his first reaction to seeing a giraffe (not shot, Chelle!).
Just the fam.
I just like this shot of Quin with Ben - very cute.
This shot is cool of Quin and his Mommy checking out the giraffe at the indoor pen.
I told Amy I was going to put this on here. She's using the foot massage machine, but it looks like she has to pee. Ahahahaha!!!!!
In the amusement park area at Como they have an area where you walk under it and it shoots out mist to cool you off on the hot days. Well it was hot this day and Quin LOVED being in the mist. Here Quin, Michelle & Sara take a quick mist brake.
I told you he loved it!
Click on the picture to in-biggen (yes, I know it's not a word) and you can see Quin's grey hair.

All Hail The King!

Hangin' with Jonathan

Whatever they're looking at must be interesting.

Summertime Prep

We were in Fergus for Katie's high school graduation (nice job, Katie!) and we got a chance to get Quin in a swimming pool before the official start of summer. He's got to get used to it since Grandma & Grandpa I have a pool and he'll be spending lots of time there this summer.
Getting used to the water with Daddy - starting to enjoy it.
Photo op with Mommy. He wouldn't look when we tried to take pics because he was more interested in the water toys floating around him.
Jenny & Ellie joined us!
Already learning the backstroke.
