Michelle & Quin got to hang out at the zoo with Grandma & Grandpa K. He had a great time checking out a very large moose and feeding the giraffes. Lots of fun!!!

Michelle Having Fun with the 'Fro

He came charging out of the bathroom with my brush wanting Michelle to brush his hair. So she did (very fluffy!).

Super-cool Dude

The only time he likes to wear sunglasses are when he puts on my 11-year old Oakley's.

Pictures from Mackinac, MI

Sorry for the delay! Here's the choice pics from our trip to the Tri-Harbor (St. Ignace, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City) area of Michigan.
This is pretty much how Quin's trip started.
We stopped for lunch on our second day at a wooded picnic/camping area and enjoyed some time playing in the park. This slide was old - I can't believe I climbed it with Quin in my arms!
Collecting pine cones.
OK, click open this picture and zoom in on the "plates" we're using. If you look closely, you'll see that they are actually Super 8 hotel stationary (we forgot napkins).
I kid you not, the highlight of the trip for Quin was all the neat places to pick up 2 t0 3 rocks in each hand. This gravel road in the park was like paradise.
Mommy and her Burger King.
After our trip to Burger King we returned to our hotel to find the electricity was out. A car had crashed into a transformer and blew out power to about seven blocks of St. Ignace including our hotel. Quin kept himself entertained trying to walk in my sandals.
We rode the Star Line Ferry to Mackinac Island. Quin really enjoyed the ride.
View of the Mackinaw Bridge from Mackinac Island over a mile away.
Michelle fell in love with this very old church on the island. It really was gorgeous.
Island life makes a guy tired.
Our only family shot was a beauty with Lake Huron in the background.
Tree's roots were growing through the rock - very neat up close.
Daddy teaching his big-guy how to throw rocks in the lake.
A dip in Lake Huron.
Enjoying the Mackinac Island hillside.
Try to keep up, Daddy!
Chillin' at the beach.
Thankfully he did not have a Coppertone Baby incident.
Chelle got a great shot of Quin's footprint in the sand. Precious!
On our day in Mackinaw City, we visited Colonial Michilimachinac (think Fort Snelling if you live in Minnesota only right on the Great Lakes shore line). I got a chance to try out the colonial latrines.
Quin thought about joining up with the Red-Coats, but their hats didn't fit.

On Mackinaw Bridge.
You really have no idea how huge this thing is until you're actually on it. It's beyond massive and rather intimidating.
Would you honestly buy insurance from a guy who goes by the name, "Cheeseman?" If you lived in St. Ignace you might!
On the ride home Quin needed a blanket and a towel to get some peace & quiet.
This was what most of the ride home was like - nearly perfect.
Husband and wife on the road. This is seriously the only picture of the two of us we got - haha!

A Quick Mackinac Update

Well, we wanted to post some pics for you but the picture upload is taking much longer than it should. So, we'll give you a verbal update. We arrived in St. Ignace on Monday evening. We unloaded the car and headed out for dinner where Quin entertained the other guests of Burger King (picture to come later). Upon returning to our hotel we found that we had no power in our room; apparently a car crashed into a transformer and knocked out power to nearly 6 blocks. Still, without power we were able to swim at the hotel pool and afterwards Quin kept himself entertained by trying to walk around in my sandals (pic to come later). Power eventually returned in time to go to bed.

Tuesday, we headed out by ferry liner (picture to come later) to Mackinac Island. If you've never been there you have to, it's absolutely gorgeous. No cars are allowed on the island so you have to get around by foot, bike or horse carriage. Quin took his first dip in a Great Lake (picture to come later). He found the waters of Lake Huron enjoyable but chilly (video to come later). He did, in all the excitement, manage two island naps (pic to come later). After a full day we headed back where as I type we are sitting in the dark trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to wake Shortround up. He had a bit of a rough night last night because he had a couple teeth come through - so we're being extra quiet. So, to all those who have told us that we are on vacation and shouldn't be on the internet, try sharing a hotel room with a 1-year old who goes to bed at 8pm! Oh, and if you didn't catch on, we'll be posting pics & videos later :)
