Slowly but surely we are finally re-doing our backyard. At the end of May, we will have owned our home (or as our realtor told us, "renting it from the bank") for 3 years. We've been slowly chipping away at the things that bug us about it. Last year we ripped out the hideous shrubs the previous owners left us and planted a maple tree that Michelle received as a gift. Last weekend, she finally used her Gerten's Gift Cards that she's been saving and purchased this lovely magnolia tree; now I'm hoping frogs don't fall from the sky (movie-buffs will get that joke!).
Now that we've planted two trees in the yard, and with hopes of a third in the backyard, maybe next year we can do what I've wanted to do from day 1: paint over the skid-mark-brown paint on the house.
